The CSS function maintains a constant surface speed, which is crucial for achieving excellent surface finishes and extending tool lifespan. Overworking a tool can cause high temperatures, leading to poor surface quality and reduced tool life. Conversely, underutilizing a tool increases cycle times, affecting overall productivity.

- ACU-RITE CSS Option: Allows for optimal surface speed settings for various tools and diameters. Assign and manually adapt spindle speeds for each tool defined in the tool table, with speed commands sent to the spindle motor inverter via the IOB 49 analog interface.
- ACU-RITE 300 DRO: Included with the CSS package, this digital readout offers precise preset and datum definitions, special probing functions, and programmable features ideal for small-batch production. The DRO 300 can store up to eight programs, each with 250 working steps, created through step-by-step keying or actual position capture (teach-in programming).
