Kent USA® has been increasing its efforts in building closer relationships with machine tool training institutions. This initiative revolves around Kent USA®’s goal of providing turnkey machine tools equipped with industry-standard features at cost-effective prices.
AMMC Machine Tool Technology Program
The Advanced Manufacturing and Material Center (AMMC) at Laramie County Community College (LCCC) in Wyoming is anticipated to open in March 2023. The college will offer both credit and non-credit programming leading to skill development, industry certifications, and college credentials. Specific skills taught include:
- Safety
- Lean Manufacturing
- Mill and Lathe Operations
- 3-D Modeling
- Project Management
- Coordinate Measurement Machine
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, CNC mill and turning
- Additive manufacturing
- Robotics
- And more
Launching WY’s Machine Tool Technology Program
LCCC is nearing the completion of renovating 14,200 square feet of existing space on campus in order to offer key training areas supporting this industry.AMMC has recently concluded the 6-month-long construction of its machine tool learning space to serve its students, community, and industry and is now in the last stage of placing and setting up the machines.
Shown below is the current status of their space showcasing the newly delivered KENT USA® manual mills, lathes, and surface grinders. 15 of the 35 machines ordered are supplied by Kent USA®. These pieces complete their major equipment purchase which will enable them to offer a full machine tool technology program to southeastern Wyoming and the entire region starting next month.
